We wish her luck!
Dear the Loving Lily Forever Family,
I am truly blessed and humbled to be chosen as the recipient for the Fall 2017 Maria Tejada Scholarship. Maria’s legacy is not one that can be mirrored, but one that can be honored. Although I was not able to meet her, I am captivated by the impact that she had on Chicago; devoting her life and career to serving others. I plan to honor Maria’s legacy by focusing on the healing and recovery of youth in Chicago communities. As an intern at the Cook County Juvenile Probation Department, I learned the importance of rehabilitation and treatment when working with neglected children.
Thank you to the Loving Lily Forever Family & Committee for seeing a potential in me. As this is the last semester of my undergraduate studies, my educational pursuits would not be possible without this opportunity. Your organization's generosity and support has allowed me to be one step closer to my goal of providing the guidance, structure and services to the delinquent population. I cannot thank you guys enough for awarding me this scholarship.
Sincerely,
Fatima
