Cheyenne (pictured with her dad) attends Central College and was accepted into the Juvenile Probation Program of Cook County for one semester. During High School, she was not only on the Honor Roll but also a member of the National Honor Society, Valedictorian, and a member of the FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America), just to name a few.
Cheyenne displayed all the characteristics of a hard working, God loving, passionate, and giving person that this scholarship was modeled after in Maria L. Tejada. The Loving Lily Forever Committee is honored and humbled to have been able to provide such a great opportunity to someone as deserving as Cheyenne.
We wish her luck!
I am so deeply honored to be the recipient of this scholarship. From the information about Maria on the website she sounds like a phenomenal woman and a true testament of love and service. I did not have the privilege of ever meeting Ms. Tejada but it is obvious that her life has left a huge impact on those around her. I’m humbled that as a committee you collectively viewed me similarly to her, to be deserving of such a gift. I cannot begin to tell you how thankful I am for your generosity in funding my internship and helping me afford the cost of living while in Chicago. I am fortunate to lead the life I do, but anything extra is a blessing. I wish that I could give you all hugs individually and thank you in person for this opportunity. I can promise you that I will do my best to live up to the legacy of Maria, love on these kids, and work hard to provide support for their families and the communities I work in.
May God bless you and keep you all. Thank you so much again!
With love,
Chy
